Both are excellent, safe medications. My clinical recommendation: if this is your first time, start with sildenafil 50mg — it's well-studied, affordable and works for most men. If it doesn't give you 4–6 hours of reliable results, or you want more flexibility, try tadalafil 20mg. Either way, take it about 30–45 minutes before you expect to be sexually active.
